The Alabama 99s have 3 racers racing in the 2015 Air Race Classic. The 3 racers are racing on two different teams; Classic Racer 7 and Classic Racer 22.

 

Classic Racer 7 team’s racers are both Alabama 99s, Ramona Banks and Caroline Hodges. They have taken on this challenge to raise awareness of FlyQuest, a non profit located in Huntsville, AL which educates young people about aviation careers.  It is the first year for both Ramona and Caroline.  They will be flying a 1964 Cessna Skyline during the race.  You can flowing Ramona and Caroline throughout the race on their blog at www.FlyingWithSierra.com.

 

 

 

Classic Racer 22 team is unique.  The team is comprised of three women from the Carastro family.  Marie Carastro is an Alabama 99 and will be the oldest racer in the Air Race Classic.  Susan Carastro is Marie’s daughter and a Florida Goldcoast 99.  Danielle Carastro is Marie’s granddaughter and Susan’s niece and is the youngest racer in the Air Race Classic. They will be flying a Cessna Skylane 182T.

 

 

With the Air Race Classic stopping in Gadsden, the Terminus being in Fairhope and this two teams, Alabama will have a great showing in the 2015 Air Race Classic!  Good luck ladies!
